Safety and protection of the environment under control - audit at ORLEN Laboratory

​On 15th & 16th November ORLEN Laboratory has been positively assessed during the supervision audit of the Environmental Management System and Safety and Occupational Health Management System, which was conducted by the auditors of the certification body TÜV NORD.
 
The Certificates of Environmental Management System and Safety and Occupational Health Management System have been issued by the TÜV NORD Company in December 2008. Obtaining certificates confirmed the compliance of ORLEN Laboratory’s procedures and instructions with the requirements of PN- EN ISO 14001:2005 “Environmental Management System. Requirements with guidance for use” and PN-EN 18001:2004 “Safety and Occupational Health Management System. Requirements”.
 
Subjects to the certification are: the provision of laboratory services in the field of analyzing petroleum and refinery products and feedstock, petrochemicals, water, sewage, sludge, soil and environmental protection, provision of environmental testing at work and services of collecting samples for testing.
 
The audit was conducted in two regional laboratories in Olsztyn and Katowice, seven laboratories in Płock and Logistics Department located in plant PKN ORLEN SA and in Company Headquarters. The purpose of the audit was to confirm the compliance of the requirements of the above mentioned standards - finding not any discrepancies, TÜV NORD auditors assessed positively the functioning of the systems.
 
Positive evaluation of the Environmental Management System and Safety and Occupational Health Management System confirmed that the Company's strategic objective, which is carrying out and the development of laboratory tests and professional advice to the business, is implemented in a way that ensures a high standard of work and health protection of our employees, and respect, protection and improvement of the environment.
